Holidazzling Your Way Through the End of 2016

December: it's that magical time of year when the snow is falling, the fireplace is roaring, and you occasionally wonder whether you're living on earth or inside of a snow globe. The cold weather brings a flurry of my favorite things: layers upon layers of coziness, Netflix marathons, snuggling up to stay warm, and hopefully a couple holiday parties or winter weddings on the calendar.

This past weekend I was lucky enough to help celebrate the wedding of my cousin, Jack to his high school sweetheart, Brittany. The weekend was full of fun, family, dancing, and laughter, and I wish it never would have ended. Below are two of my looks from the weekend; these were great for a rehearsal dinner and wedding, but they'd be just as fitting for a more formal holiday party. Keep your eyes open for a post a little later with a different approach for a more casual party setting.

As much as I love the comfort of leggings and sweaters during the winter months, there's something so fun about going glam for a night. I'm talking sequins, fur, and sparkly jewelry. There aren't a lot of times or places in which the combination of all three is appropriate, (unless you're Vanna White [career goals]), but a winter wedding or formal holiday party just happen to be perfect.

Look one is an all black outfit that is comfortable and fun. The skirt I chose has never been worn and was dug out of the back of my closet, but it turned out to be perfect for the night. It's a few years old and unavailable now, but I've linked some similar styles below. I paired it with a black quilted sweater, this adorable faux fur mini bag, and some gold jewelry. This is such an easy outfit that you can really make your own. If you're not a fan of head to toe black outfits, it's so easy to switch up the color of the skirt, sweater, purse, or shoes - have fun and be creative! Check out my links below for options

Look two brings a little more drama with its sequins, fur, and sparkly baubles. I rented this beautiful green sequined dress from Rent the Runway, and it was a hit. If you've never tried Rent the Runway, TRY IT! I almost exclusively rent dresses for events now - it's so simple, and the options seem infinite. I accessorized the dress with a fur stole, statement earrings, and a bracelet (options below for all). Note: please excuse the poor photo quality - I was having a technical difficulty with the camera, but they'll be back to normal on the next post!

I hope you get some inspiration from the post and dare to sparkle at your next winter event!
